Sororities and fraternities gathered together this past weekend to compete in the two-day singing competition known as All-Sing put on by ACE . 2008 was Alpha Delta Pi's third consecutive year to win the All-Sing, the second time winning with Kappa Delta sorority.

Many groups often pair up with another group to compete.  The groups then come up with a theme for their two-to-three-minute show.  Themes for this year's competition ranged from Disney movies to Broadway shows.

Alpha Delta Pi and Kappa Delta sororites won the competition by performing a medely of songs from Disney's "Mary Poppins." The performance wowed the audience and judges with talented vocalists, the use of many props and extravagent costumes. Alpha Delta Pi's Ashley Cole also won the coveted "Best Female Solo."

Other notable performaces included Delta Delta Delta sorority paired with Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, who finished in second place, and Alpha Omicron Pi sorority paired with Phi Mu sorority finishing in third place.

All-Sing had its debut at UT in 1932 as "Song-Fest" and has remained a traditon ever since.  Song-Fest was initated by the Young Men's Christian Association and the All Students' Club as a night of singing competition.  The main idea begind this age-old tradition was to familiarize stdents, faculty and the community with the songs of the times.
