Dance Marathon is an overnight event held annually to raise money for the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Contrary to how it may sound, DM is not a dance-a-thon where students dance all night long. It is the largest student run philanthropy in the country and involves college students all across the country. Corresponding event, “Cakes for Kids” will take place in the upcoming week and will also raise money for the ETCH. It takes place Feb.11 from 6–8:30pm in the Panhellenic building. Those in attendance will be provided with all you can eat pancakes and bacon for only five dollars.
This event was also held on January 29th, and the February 11th date is the second round to raise money. If you participated in this event already, feel free to come around for a second helping. For those who are just hearing about it for the first time, come out and support a great cause.
Kara Smith, the President of Dance Marathon had many good things to say about the upcoming events; “Cakes for Kids is one of Dance Marathon’s biggest hits—we always have great support from the students and faculty to help make this fundraiser successful. Let’s be honest, you can’t get much better than all-you-can-eat OJ bacon and pancakes for only $5. Plus, all the proceeds go to the kids at East TN Children’s Hospital!”
Come out this Monday and support the East Tennessee Childrens Hospital at the annual Cakes for Kids.
