If you crave something off the "beat"en path then come to the Bijou Theatre Feb. 10 to see the band that made modern folk music famous.
The indigo Girls, who hail from Atlanta, have been performing onstage since 1985.
Using guitars, mandolins, harmonicas, and ukuleles, the two friends create a powerful message of hope and strength.
"They have been around since before I was born," says Mandi Grubb, a student in business. "They are always very ‘in' with the times."
The Indigo Girls have been involved with almost everything. From being in Jesus Christ Superstar: A Resurrection, to Stephen King's novel Rose Madder, the girls have proven to be a constant voice throughout the years.
Michelle Malone, who also comes from Atlanta, will be performing with the Indigo Girls on Feb. 10.
