Two University of Tennessee choirs will be performing a concert on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. in the Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building. Dr. Batey is a teacher in that she not only works us hard so we are great for our concerts, but makes sure we have fun doing so. Paul Carpenter, senior in Concert Choir
This concert marks the first of two concerts that will be performed by the two groups. The concert will feature the Concert Choir and the Chamber Singers.
The Concert Choir, led by Angela Batey, will be performing five songs. These include: "Set Me as a Seal" by Rene Clausen, "Peace I Leave with You" by Walter Pelz, "Agnus Dei" by David Pagel, "William Tell Overture" by Gioacchino Rossini and arranged by Julie Eschliman, and "I Can Tell the World" arranged by Moses Hogan.
Time and effort is a necessity for the members to perform to the best of their ability. These students get together twice a week to rehearse for the concert. According to Paul Carpenter, a senior in Concert Choir, they "work very hard every time [they] practice together."
The members enjoy the hard work that is required of them to put on a good concert.
