With 20 caucuses taking place Tuesday, Super Tuesday cemented Sen. John McCain's lead in for the Republican nominee.
McCain won his home state of Arizona, taking all 50 delegates with 213,461 votes, an astounding 48 percent of the vote. 93 percent of the precincts have reported in Arizona.
He also won California taking 56 delegates, Connecticut taking all 27 delegates, Delaware with all 18 delegates, Illinois with 54 delegates, Missouri taking all 58 delegates, New Jersey with all 52 delegates, New York taking all of the 101 delegates, and Oklahoma with 32 delegates. This puts McCain in the lead with 516 delegates in total.
McCain also won delegates in Alabama, 13, three delegates each in Alaska and Georgia, 17 delegates in Massachusetts, five in North Dakota, and 14 in Tennessee.
Gov. Mitt Romney also took a chunk of the delegates with his wins. He won Alaska and received 12 delegates, in Colorado he took all 22 delegates; he won Massachusetts with 21 delegates, Minnesota with all 36 delegates, Montana with all 25 delegates, North Dakota with 8 delegates and Utah with all 36 delegates. Romney is following behind McCain with 207 delegates.
Romney took some delegates in several states that he did not win. In California, Romney took three delegates; he took two delegates in Illinois, and nine in Tennessee.
Gov. Mike Huckabee did better than expected taking several states. He won Alabama and picked up 14 delegates, his win in Arkansas gave him all 25 delegates, he won Georgia taking 45 delegates, Tennessee taking 21 delegates and West Virginia taking all 18 delegates. Huckabee has 142 delegates in total.
In states he did not win, Huckabee picked up a few delegates. In Arkansas he took six, in North Dakota five and in Oklahoma six.
