A group of UT students have recently created a short film trailer that HBO has chosen from more than thousands to be shown on its Entourage Web site.

The film is a trailer of the fictional television show Five Towns, referenced on Entourage. Sophomore Scott Murphy and juniors Matt Dearman, Daniel Hubbard and Aaron Myers created the fim in four days of shooting and five days of editing.

Five Towns shows Dearman, Hubbard and Myers as conflicted characters participating in a drug deal gone bad and mobster activity. Murphy directed the piece.

"The marketing team viewed thousands of Entourage-related videos, looking for a creative, well done piece," Dearman said. "They found our trailer and immediately contacted us."

Murphy and Dearman decided to create the trailer after winning UT's Free Range Video contest last April. The pair participated in creating a political satire called "Pizza Pie Oh My," which received first place in the contest.

"Winning the Free Range Video contest at UTK really got the creative wheels turning," Dearman said.

The trailer is actually based on a show within a show, Dearman said.

"Five Towns is a show on Entourage that you hear about, and that a character is said to star in," he said

Murphy said that creating the video was done just for fun.

"We had just gotten some new video equipment and wanted to put something together," he said. "We are huge Entourage fans and it really inspired us."

HBO found the video during a casual search on Vimeo.com.

"We didn't submit the trailer into a contest or anything," Murphy said. "HBO found us. That is the cool thing about it.

"UT helped bring us together with people we haven't worked with, and allowed us to share creative ideas with other people," Murphy said. "We want to do more things on campus, and we are always looking for more people. If anyone is interested, we'd like them to contact us."
