Students, faculty and Fort Sanders residents are invited to the University of Tennessee's annual campus clean-up day on April 20.
The Student Government Association's Campus Beautification Committee and SPEAK will sponsor the event, which begins at 1:00 p.m. in the University Center back plaza.
"We will provide students with bags and gloves and assign them an area to clean," Kaylee Vickers, Campus Beautification co-director, said. "We will have groups cleaning all of campus, most of the strip and some pre-designated areas of the fort."
Moe's, McAlister's, Wing Zone, Pizza Hut, Eva's Bakery and more will provide free food for students after the clean-up is over.
Raffle prizes will be drawn at the end of the day, and participants can win great prizes for Sawyer's, Moes, Firehouse and Taco del Mar.
"Students will also get a free shirt and we can write them community service hours if needed," Vickers said.
Clean-up is a great way for students to show their orange and white spirit by making orange green.
Last semester, over 100 students particpated in the event, and Vickers hopes the turnout this semester will be even higher.
"It is our campus and we should take pride in it looking good," Vickers said. "We shouldn't expect someone else to take care of it, and we need to do our part and show we care."
