The Tennessee Lady Volunteers next step toward a second straight national championship comes Sunday night against SEC rival LSU.

Everyone knows about Candace Parker's shoulder injury suffered against Texas A&M in the Elite Eight. The All-American has been declared fit to play against the Lady Tigers, but it's hard to imagine she won't be bothered at least mentally by her braced shoulder.

With Parker limited, the rest of the Lady Vols will have an opportunity to step up. The onus falls on the entire team to pick up the slack offensively.

However, three individuals will need to perform well for the Lady Vols if they are going to have a chance at hanging another banner at Thompson-Boling Arena.

3. Nicky Anosike

Anosike's defense on LSU's Sylvia Fowles will be a huge key to this game. A healthy Parker would have been able to help slow the Lady Tigers' star. With Parker nicked up, the assignment will likely fall to Anosike to slow the SEC's Player of the Year.

Anosike is a solid defensive player and a very good rebounder, but Fowles is unlike virtually any other player in women's college basketball. Limiting her as much as possible is paramount since the Lady Vols will likely be slowed some scoring-wise.

2. Shannon Bobbitt

Bobbitt stepped up in a big way during Tennessee's title run last year, but in the tournament this year she has turned in some head-scratching performances, like her seven turnovers against the Aggies.

The point guard is currently averaging less than eight points per game and has more turnovers than assists during her team's four tournament wins in 2008.

She'll need to be much better than that against the Lady Tigers, and if she can knock down some outside shots that would go a long way toward a Tennessee win.

1. Pat Summitt

Coach Summitt is the greatest coach in the history of women's basketball. She's proven herself against other great coaches by winning seven national titles, but those all came with superior talent than opposition.

But if Parker is limited in any way against the Lady Tigers, which she probably will be, Tennessee might actually have a rare talent disadvantage.

However, it would be unwise to doubt Summitt. She's got 981 wins for a reason.

You don't get SUPERIOR talent without FIRST proving YOURSELF on a LEVEL playing field. I know....you've got to generate interest in the game with the detraction from COACH Summit's record...you're forgiven....not.
