In "The Wizard of Oz: Gags, Shtick, Rhythms, and Routines," Calvin MacLean, UT professor and head of theatre, discussed the art of physical comedy during the UT Pre-Game Faculty Showcase.

Everyone was invited to watch MacLean's hilarious two-person production of "The Wizard of Oz"  Saturday, Sept. 22 in the UC Ballroom.

The UT Pre-Game Faculty Showcase is held two hours before every home football game.  A top faculty member is chosen for each presentation. The programs are free and open to the public

MacLean, who wrote the two-person version of "The Wizard of Oz", directed the play, and then used it to explain how theatre works.

MacLean is a distinguished artist who has won many awards and was named one of the 10 most promising theatre artists for 2002 by the Chicago Tribune.

The Pre-Game Faculty Showcase is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences with support from the UT National Alumni Association and UT Athletics. Light refreshments accompany the program along with door prizes such as basketballs and footballs signed by UT coaches.
