Based on the teen novels with the same name, "Gossip Girl" follows a group of New York prep school kids, who are all rich, well off and pretty. Pretty kids who have problems, that is.
Sigh.
The title character, the heard but never seen Gossip Girl (the voice of "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell), is the owner of a blog that all the characters read. She fills in the gaps for viewers as the plot of each episode unravels. We're introduced to Serena (Blake Lively) and her former best friend Blair (Leighton Meester). Blair is queen of the school, and Serena is returning to school after drama last year (we see glimpses of this in the episode, but nothing is described in detail- other than prime-time nookie between Serina and Blair's boyfriend).
This encounter sets the stage for future conflict as Blair defends her rule of the school...wait. This sounds like the plot to the Lindsey Lohan movie "Mean Girls." I had the same thought every five minutes.
I hated this show, but yet, I'm compelled to watch.
If you enjoy "Cruel Intentions," you might like this show. If you didn't , then stay away. I'm sticking to reruns of "90210" for my pretty people drama.
"Gossip Girl" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.

The characters and the plot of the show are being played out REALLY good and I know that the show is going to do really well because networks do not want to show teen drama anymore. There is an audience of teens that want to watch something that they can relate to and GOSSIP GIRL is that show

Dude, your not a girl. And girls have a tendency to like these types of shows.
