We have had over 1,000 peppers colored since the beginning of September. -Frank Rupp, assistant manager of Chili's Grill and Bar Cumberland On Monday, Sept. 24, Chili's will donate all proceeds from restaurant sales to St. Jude. People can also buy T-shirts and dog tags with the Chili's and St. Jude's logos on them. Along with the "Create-A-Pepper campaign, Chili's on Cumberland Avenue will give away a free food party to the sorority that sells the most peppers, Rupp said.
The "Create-A-Pepper" campaign supports the fight against childhood cancer. People can donate as little as a dollar to color in a pepper. Chili's, located on Cumberland Avenue, has been taking part in this and already has had many people donate towards St. Jude.
"We have had over 1,000 peppers colored since the beginning of September," assistant manager, Frank Rupp said. "I've been really pleased with the response this year."
Last year, the campaign raised more than $5.2 million nationwide; $11 million has been raised since its first year in 2004. This campaign contributes to Chili's 10-year plan to raise $50 million for the construction of Chili's Care Center, a new state-of-the-art research and clinical care building.
"We are going to be the first corporate sponsor with our name on the building." Rupp said. "The building will be opening in November of this year."
People can also make online donations. Click here for personal stories and more information on the "Create-A-Pepper" campaign.

It was an excellent and informative article and I appreciate Ms Alavi’s article to inform people for such a great cause. We will go to the Restaurant on Monday, Sept. 24 to participate in this worthy fundraiser.
Thanks Again,
