Monday, Sept. 17, was Constitution Day and to celebrate the Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy in coordination with UT libraries sponsored a signing of an oversized copy of the Constitution.

"It has been very successful by the looks of the Constitution," said Nissa Dahlin-Brown, associate director.  The oversized Constitution was covered in colorful signatures from many students and professors.

"There hasn't been as much apathy as I'd thought," said Anne Buckle, a Baker Scholar.  She said that students were pleased to sign the Constitution.

The event was held on the Pedestrian Walkway in front of Hodges Library in order to give students a chance to "symbolically take part in a substantial part of their history," said Gavin Luter, coordinator.

The oversized Constitution was 4 feet wide and 5 feet tall.
