Monday, Sept. 17, students will have the chance to sign an enlarged copy of the Constitution at the Pedestrian Walkway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate Constitution Day.
The event is being put on by the Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy in coordination with UT libraries. This is the first time the event has been held on campus.
"It seemed to be a quick, simple and fun way for students to participate in Constitution Day," said Gavin Luter, the event coordinator. The event will be a reminder to students and faculty of the foundations the country was built upon.
"Essentially, people will simulate an act of our forefathers and recommit themselves to the ideals laid out in the Constitution," said Luter.
The Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy will be handing out pocket Constitutions along with other gifts at the signing.
