Students and staff looking to save some money will be pleased to hear there will be two free cookouts this week on Sept. 6 and 7.
On Thursday, Sept. 6, UT Career Services will have their Kick-off to Recruiting cookout from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Dunford Courtyard. It will be presented by 21st Mortgage, Pepsi Bottling Company and Food City. The event is aimed at informing people about Career Services, and anyone is welcome to attend.
On Friday, Sept. 7, the UT Office of Professional Practice will hold their 10th annual College of Engineering Welcome Back Cookout from 11 a.m. until the food runs out. The event, for engineering students only, will take place on campus in front of the Science and Engineering Research Facility.
Representatives will be present from sponsors Kimberly-Clark, DuPont, Denso, Shaw Industries, International Paper, the Tennessee Valley Authority and others. "It's an opportunity [for the companies] to have a chance to talk with both students and faculty," Walter Odom, director of the Office of Professional Practice, said. He hopes engineering students will have a chance to talk to as many employers as possible.
For more information regarding the cookouts, contact Career Services at 865-974-5435, or the Office of Professional Practice at 865-974-5323.
