Last weekend the Vols had two performances that topped all others.

The first came from the football game at Mississippi State, where freshman place-kicker Daniel Lincoln scored 15 of the Vols 33 points to aid the Vols in a win over the Bulldogs.

After missing a field goal for the first time this season late in the second quarter, the redshirt freshman got a second chance and kicked a season-long, 47-yard field goal with two seconds left before halftime.

Lincoln made three more field goals in the second half from 29, 26, and 43 yards, respectively. Lincoln also added on three extra points in the game.

The Florida-native leads the Vols in scoring on the year with 60 points.

He has made all 24 of his extra point attempts and is 12 of 13 on field goal attempts, connecting on all four attempts from 40 yards or further.

Lincoln, however, was not the only player to stand out for a Vol squad over the weekend.

Junior Chris Paisley of the Vol golf team won the individual championship at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges over the weekend in Johnson City.

After shooting a 2-under-par 70 on Friday, Paisley tied the tournament and course records when he shot an 8-under-par 64 Saturday to move three shots ahead of the rest of the field.

Paisley shot an even par 72 on Sunday, good enough for a 2-stroke win over Maryland's Chris Gold and Kent State's John Hahn.

It was the first individual collegiate victory for Paisley, with his previous best coming in a second place finish at the 2007 SEC championships.

Through three tournaments, Paisley leads the team with a 72.33-stroke average. He has finished three rounds under par.

With Lincoln's effort in a team victory and Paisley's effort in an individual win the two players are this week's TNJN Vol Athletes of the Week.
