NCAA Football: Kansas at Kansas St., 12:00 p.m. on FSN
Kansas State sits at 3-1 after its surprising win over Texas last week, while the Jayhawks are undefeated and ranks third in the nation in both total offense and total defense.
NCAA Football: Miami at North Carolina, 12:00 p.m. on ESPN
Miami looks to continue its winning streak since falling to Oklahoma. North Carolina is looking for its first marquee win under first-year head coach Butch Davis, former head coach of the Hurricanes.
NCAA Football: No. 5 Wisconsin at Illinois, 12:00 p.m. on ESPN2
The Badgers backed their way into a top five ranking this week despite being unimpressive so far this year. Illinois pulled an upset last week against Penn State and will look to duplicate the feat this week.
NCAA Football: Vanderbilt at Auburn, 12:30 p.m. on Lincoln Financial
Auburn looks to avoid a let-down following last weekend's season saving upset of Florida. Vanderbilt quietly sits at 3-1 behind the play of quarterback Chris Nickson and wide receiver Earl Bennett. Vandy has lost 12 straight to the Tigers.
NCAA Football: No. 9 Oklahoma at No. 19 Texas, 3:30 p.m. on ABC
The Sooners and the Longhorns are each looking to bounce back after being upset last week. Oklahoma fell at Colorado 27-24 and Texas was upended at home by Kansas State 41-21. Although both suffered disappointing losses, the winner of this game will still be the front-runner for the Big 12 South title.
NCAA Football: No. 14 Georgia at Tennessee, 3:30 p.m. on CBS
Saturday's matchup at Neyland could be a major turning point for both UGA and UT. The loser of the game will likely see their SEC title chances go out the window, while the winner sits right in the thick of the race in the East. The Vols will also look to snap the Dawgs stretch of three consecutive wins in Knoxville.
NCAA Football: Arizona State at Washington State, 4:00 p.m. on FSN
Arizona State looks to remain undefeated under Dennis Erickson, who is in his first year at the helm of the Sun Devils.
Major League Baseball: Arizona at Chicago, 6:00 p.m. on TBS
The Diamondbacks have jumped out to a 2-0 lead and can clinch the series with a win in at Wrigley. With an 11-8 record in the regular season, starting pitcher Rich Hill will look to salvage the Cubs playoff chances. The D'Backs will turn to the experienced Livan Hernandez to move into the NLCS for the first time since 2001 when they went on the win the World Series.
NCAA Football: No. 16 Virginia Tech at No. 24 Clemson, 6:00 p.m. on ESPN
Freshman quarterback Tyrod Taylor will face his first real test since becoming the starter for the Hokies. The Tigers will look to rebound after an embarrassing performance last week in their 13-3 loss against Georgia Tech where they managed only 228 yards.
NCAA Football: Stanford at No. 2 USC, 7:00 p.m. on Versus
The Trojans look to remain unbeaten and pick up some first place votes when they take on Stanford under first-year coach Jim Harbaugh.
NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Texas A&M, 7:30 p.m. on FSN
The winner of this game will move to 2-0 in conference play and sit atop the Big 12 South standings.
NCAA Football: No. 20 Cincinnati at No. 23 Rutgers, 8:00 p.m. on ESPN2
The Scarlet Knights look to respond to last week's home loss to Maryland, while the undefeated Bearcats look to prove they belong in the Big East title discussion.
NCAA Football: No. 4 Ohio State at No. 21 Purdue, 8:00 p.m. on ABC
Purdue is off to a 5-0 start, but will face their stiffest competition to this point when Ohio State travels to West Lafayette. The Boilermakers boast a strong offense led by quarterback Curtis Painter, but he will face a tough challenge in James Laurinaitis and the Buckeye defense.
NCAA Football: No. 10 Florida at No. 1 LSU 8:00 p.m. on CBS
This could be the Tigers toughest challenge in their bid to win the SEC and more this year. The Gators own an impressive record over the years in Tiger Stadium and will look to rebound from last week's disappointing home loss to Auburn.
NCAA Football: No. 22 Nebraska at No. 15 Missouri, 9:15 p.m. on ESPN
A pair of talented quarterbacks, Nebraska's Sam Keller and Missouri's Chase Daniel, will square off in what should be one of the weekend's most exciting game. Strong starts by these two teams and upsets by Colorado and Kansas State last week have given reason to believe the Big 12 North may be ready to challenge for supremacy in the league.
Major League Baseball: Philadelphia at Colorado, 9:30 p.m. on TBS
With Colorado leading the series 2-0, Saturday's game at Coors Field will be the last chance for the Phillies to salvage their first playoff appearance in 14 years. The Rockies have won 16 of their last 17 games and have been led by Matt Holiday and Todd Helton's strong offensive output throughout their impressive streak.
Sunday
NFL Football: Atlanta at Tennessee, 1:00 p.m. on Fox
The Tennessee Titans have established themselves as a legitimate playoff contender. The combination of Vince Young, Chris Brown and LenDale White has given the Titans one of the most effective running games in the NFL. While the Falcons have started the season 1-3, they will look to build off of Joey Harrington's strong performance last week to get the team moving in the right direction.
NFL Football: Jacksonville at Kansas City, 1:00 p.m. on CBS
Both the Chiefs and the Jags are looking for their third straight win. The Chiefs sit in a tie atop the AFC West while the Jags have won two straight since an opening week loss to the Titans.
Major League Baseball: * Arizona at Chicago, 1:00 p.m. on TNT
This is the potential game four of the NLDS if the Chicago Cubs are able to win on Saturday night. The Cubs would likely turn to starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano for the second time in the series if game four is reached.
NASCAR: UAW Ford 500, 2:00 pm on ABC
Race four of the NASCAR Chase for the NEXTEL Cup comes Sunday afternoon at the Talladega Superspeedway. Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer are separated by just 14 points in the standings. In the first race at Talladega this year, Gordon and Johnson finished first and second while Bowyer struggled, finishing 35th.
Major League Baseball: Boston at Los Angeles Angels, 3:00 p.m. on TBS
This will be the first game in Los Angeles and depending on the outcome of Friday's game, could complete a sweep in favor of the Boston Red Sox. Curt Schilling will take the mound for Boston against Jered Weaver of the Angels.
NFL Football: Chargers at Broncos, 4:15 p.m. on CBS
The Chargers are off to one of the most disappointing starts in the NFL this year, but remain just a game out of the division lead. After winning a their first two games with field goals on the last play of the game, the Broncos have dropped two straight to fall back to .500. They could also be without the NFL's leading rusher in Travis Henry who apparently violated the league's substance abuse policy.
Major League Baseball: New York Yankees at Cleveland, 6:30 p.m. on TBS
Roger Clemens will take the mound for the Yankees in game three against the Indians. With the series tied at 1-1, the veteran right hander's experience could play a major role in the outcome of the game.
NFL Football: Chicago at Green Bay, 8:15 p.m. on NBC
Led by quarterback Brett Favre, the Packers have started the season 4-0 for the first time since 1998. Coming off of an NFC Championship in 2006, the Bears have started the season 1-3 and will look to quarterback Brian Griese to provide a spark for the struggling offense.
Major League Baseball: * Philadelphia at Colorado, 10:00 p.m. on TBS
If the Phillies are able to win on Saturday, game four of the series will be held late Sunday night at Coors Field. The Phillies may also look to their game one starter in game four. Cole Hamels allowed three earned runs in 6 2/3 innings and struck out seven batters.
