The UT Press will hold its Scratch and Dent sale on the first Friday of every month. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., UT Press titles will be for sale in Suite 110 of the UT Conference Center. "The display copies often get worn or dinged in transit, and we came up with the idea of the sale to reduce the inventory in our office."  Tom Post, press manager

In the UT Press lobby, books will be priced as marked and sold on a first come, first served basis. Cash and checks will be accepted.

"The display copies often get worn or dinged in transit, and we came up with the idea of the sale to reduce the inventory in our office," said Tom Post, press manager at UT. The monthly sale provides the public access to UT Press titles.

The UT Press attends many scholarly meeting, trade shows and campus and community events. The Scratch and Dent sale is only one of the ways the organization presents its titles to the public.

"Last week we had a table at the UT Employee Benefits Fair, a table for the 'Knox County Library/YWCA "To Kill a Mockingbird" kick-off on Market Square' and two [employees] had a booth at the Southern Independent Booksellers Convention in Atlanta over the weekend," said Post.

The dates for future Scratch and Dent sales are Nov. 2 and Dec. 7.
