The band 1220 will be playing at Barley's in the Old City this Friday, Oct. 5 at 10 p.m. with other opening acts Leslie and American Princes. 1220's music is a blend of the classic sound of Led Zeppelin and other legends mixed with a fast, driving rock sound that is all its own.

Bill Van Vleet, drummerThe band's two guitarists Ricky Dover and Nick Kurtz drive this freight train of rock and roll with vocalist Jacob Gibson conducting their coarse and rowdy lyrics alongside their hard-driving instrumentals. And all the while drummer Bill Van Vleet and bassist Nathan McDowell keep everything in line with their dynamic rhythm section.

This local band began with a history of great performances in and around Knoxville. Their first, self-titled album debuted in 2005 and, after a series of lineup changes, returned to the scene in the fall of last year. 1220 recorded its latest album "Miss Legendary," which is available at Disc Exchange.
