Another highlight of the 7th Annual Lantern and Carriage Tour was the appearance of several ghostly apparitions throughout the cemetery grounds. Around 10 actors and volunteers played people buried in Old Gray Cemetery. They told stories of their lives and deaths as well as their knowledge and influence on Knoxville history. Groups of people gathered around each reenactor along the main path through the middle of the cemetery.

Each year a new group of "ghosts" surface to tell their tales - and each year they teach a little more about Knoxville's history. The 2007 tour included appearances from Governor Ben Hooper and Mrs. Edward Maynard.
