For sixteen years, Nashville, Tennessee, has been holding an annual walk which raises money for the research of AIDS and promotes awareness of AIDS and HIV.
This years annual Walk will be a 2.5 mile trek across the historical Bicentennial Mall State Park.
Bicentennial Mall is a park rich with Tennessee history and fun activities for children and adults alike. Justine Patterson, Nashville native
The event is going to be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, rain or shine, starting about 10 a.m. and continuing sometime past noon. It is going to be a day filled with fun, entertainment, family time, and above all, it will be a time that brings attention to the epidemic which has turned the lives of millions on end. The goal of the Walk is to raise money for AIDS research through donations and to raise awareness of AIDS and HIV through the, hopefully, mass display of concerned citizens.
Registered walkers will receive free water, along the way. Other food and drink will be offered for anyone to purchase.
People who attend the event will want to come early to enjoy the free entertainment scheduled before the walk, and especially, to meet other people who share their compassion for the cause.
It is considered a family affair, so kids and pets are more than welcome to join.
