While the game of the day Saturday doesn't come until 8 p.m. on ESPN, there is still plenty of other college football action on the tube to keep you busy up to that point.
Saturday is just setting the stage for "Super Bowl 41 1/2" between the Patriots and the Colts. Make sure you're firmly entrenched on the couch at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, because that is one game no one will want to miss.
Saturday
NCAA Football: Vanderbilt at No. 20 Florida, 12:30 p.m. on CBS
Two years ago Jay Cutler nearly led Vandy to an upset in the Swamp. This year the Commodores will get another chance as they square off with a reeling Florida team that has lost three of its last four games. Vandy becomes bowl eligible with just one more win.
NCAA Football: Nebraska at No. 8 Kansas, 12:30 p.m. on FSN
Kansas looks to remain unbeaten as they take on Nebraska. The Jayhawks are led by the nation's fifth-best defense that allows under 264 yards per game. Nebraska has dropped four straight games since a 4-1 start.
NCAA Football: Navy at Notre Dame, 2:00 p.m. on NBC
While neither of these teams will appear in any sorts of rankings, except Notre Dame in a list of the nation's worst squads, this game is still big for historical purposes. Navy has not defeated the Irish since 1963. Since then Notre Dame has won 43 straight games between the teams, but this may be the Midshipmen's best shot since.
NCAA Football: No. 12 Michigan at Michigan State, 3:30 p.m. on ABC
Michigan has won seven straight games to move back into Rose Bowl contention, but Michigan State will be looking to spring the upset in this rivalry match-up. This will be the 100th meeting between the Wolverines and Spartans.
NCAA Football: Cincinnati at No. 19 South Florida, 3:30 p.m. on ESPN
South Florida has dropped two straight road games and will look to get back on track at home against the Bearcats. Cincinnati has also lost two straight games and will look to end their losing streak after a bye last week.
NCAA Football: No. 3 LSU at No. 17 Alabama, 5:00 p.m. on CBS
Nick Saban will look to lead Alabama over LSU, the team he led to a national championship before jetting to the NFL. The Tigers dropped their only true test on the road three weeks ago to Kentucky but bounced back with a home win over Auburn the following week.
NCAA Football: No. 9 Missouri at Colorado, 6:30 p.m. on FSN
Missouri will look to go on the road and beat the Buffaloes in this Big 12 North match-up. Chase Daniel has led the Tigers to a 7-1 start with the only loss coming at Oklahoma. Colorado stands just one win away from bowl eligibility in Dan Hawkins's second season at the helm.
NCAA Football: No. 4 Arizona State at No. 5 Oregon, 6:45 on ESPN
Last week Arizona State passed its first test with a home victory over Cal. This week they face an even bigger challenge in traveling to Autzen Stadium to take on Heisman hopeful Dennis Dixon and Oregon. The winner of this game sits in the pole position for a Rose Bowl bid, and possible National Championship Game appearance.
NCAA Football: No. 24 South Carolina at Arkansas, 8:00 on ESPN2
South Carolina looks to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss at Tennessee last week. Arkansas running back Darren McFadden will look to put his name back into the Heisman race by leading the Razorbacks to an SEC win. The visitor has won the last two meetings in this series.
NCAA Football: Florida State at No. 2 Boston College, 8:00 on ABC
The Eagles escaped Virginia Tech with a 14-10 win last week behind Matt Ryan's Heisman moment. Florida State had lost two straight before a win over Duke a week ago. A loss would all but end Boston College's chances at appearing in the national title game.
Sunday
NFL Football: Jaguars at Saints, 1:00 p.m. on CBS
The Saints have won three straight games after starting 0-4 to get back in the NFC playoff picture. Jacksonville escaped Tampa Bay with a one-point win last week and is 5-2 on the season.
NFL Football: Panthers at Titans, 1:00 p.m. on FOX
After a sub-par performance last week, Vince Young will look to bounce back and lead the Titans past Carolina. The Panthers have a 4-0 record on the road this season and will look to continue their strong play away from home at LP Field.
NASCAR: Dickies 500, 3:30 p.m. on ABC
With just three races to go in the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup, Jeff Gordon holds a slim nine point lead over teammate Jimmie Johnson. Gordon will attempt to pad his lead in Fort Worth where he led more than half of the laps in an April race won by Jeff Burton.
NFL: Patriots at Colts, 4:15 p.m. on CBS
Each of these teams enters the game unbeaten in a rematch of last year's AFC Championship Game. The Patriots' Tom Brady has 30 touchdown passes through eight games and is on pace to race past Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning's 2004 record of 49 touchdown passes.
NCAA Football: SMU at Houston, 8:00 p.m. on ESPN
Conference USA's weekly Sunday night game features a match-up of teams on opposite sides of the West division standings. Houston leads the division with a 4-1 conference record and is in search of a second straight conference title. SMU is 0-4 in conference play and has announced head coach Phil Bennett will not return after this season.
NFL: Cowboys at Eagles, 8:15 p.m. on NBC
Dallas sits at 6-1 and is the top team in the NFC in the eyes of many, but the 3-4 Eagles have seen their play improve over the last few weeks. Last year, Philly swept the Cowboys en route to an NFC East championship.
