NCAA career strikeout leader Monica Abbott leads the Lady Vols into NCAA tournament play starting Friday.

After being upset in the SEC tournament the Lady Vols' softball team was named the fifth-seed nationally and will host the regional round of the NCAA tournament.
Tennessee (54-5) will be joined in the region by North Carolina, Winthrop and Furman, and will open play Friday night against Furman.
The winner of the Knoxville region will face the winner of the Los Angeles region in a best-of-three series to advance to the College Softball World Series in Oklahoma City.
UCLA, Hawaii, UC Santa-Barbara and Loyola Marymount make up the L.A. region.
