Bridgeview Grill offers table with a view

At the Bridgeview Grill, diners can enjoy reasonably priced, upscale entrees while enjoying a view of the Gay Street Bridge.

I had the opportunity to eat at Aramark's newest campus restaurant with a few friends. We walked in and took the elevator to the third floor, where tables are topped with candles and lined with white linen tablecloths.

I immediately felt that this experience was different from normal college dining, and I also knew that my dressy outfit had been the appropriate choice.  We were seated at a table outside next to the doors. The seating was lit well, but the sconce above our table was dim, making it difficult to read our menus.

I decided on the grilled chicken shiitake pasta, a signature item on the menu which also came with a salad.  I chose the boathouse salad, another unique item the Grill offers.  It came with a lettuce wedge, tomato, onion and blue cheese dressing, which is made in-house with an amazing combination of citrus and blue cheese.

When our meals came, we talked and enjoyed the view. As the sun set, the lights of the city sparkled on the water.

Bridgeview Grill is similar to most nice restaurants I've visited and strives for a more expensive feel. The food is well-prepared, the atmosphere is relaxing and the view is outstanding. Although the outside seating is comfortable, it does not offer much light if you are seated near the doors.

For two people, you can expect a bill of about $20, and University of Tennessee students and faculty can pay using All Star, Departmental Charge or UT Diner's Club. Located at 900 Neyland Drive, across from the Neyland Parking Garage, Bridgeview Grill opens daily at 11 a.m. with a Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. To find more information or make reservations, you can call 865.673.6574.
