The Vols suffered a 76-67 upset loss in overtime at the hands of the LSU Tigers.

Glen Davis proved to be too much for the Vols to handle in the second half and in overtime. After Davis scored only three points in the first half he responded with 18 points in the second half and seven in overtime. He finished with a game-high 25 points and 15 rebounds.

In overtime Davis converted an old fashion 3-point play with 1:55 left that gave the Tigers (17-14) a 71-67 lead. The Vols couldn't score another basket.

Tennessee (22-10) trailed 64-61 with 17 seconds left with Ramar Smith going to the free-throw line. Smith was only able to convert on his first attempt but the Vols were able to secure the offensive rebound. JaJuan Smith's 3-point attempt was no good but Chris Lofton was able to tip-in the rebound to tie the game.

The Vols had a chance to win the game in regulation after LSU's Garrett Temple was called for an offensive foul with seven seconds left. But JaJuan Smith's 3-pointer at the end of regulation was no good, and the game went to overtime.

JaJuan Smith struggled throughout the game. He was 0-7 from behind the arc and finished with only six points. The Vols were led by Lofton with 21 points and Duke Crews added 11 points.

The Vols got off to an early start jumping out to a  7-0 but struggled to score for the remainder of the first half. Lofton scored 10 of the Vols' first 11 points. Tennessee shot only 35.7 percent in the first half but were able to take a 27-25 lead into the half.

Ramar Smith wasn't in the starting lineup because he missed curfew but finished the game with 10 points. Jordan Howell started in his place.

With Tennessee's SEC Tournament woes continuing they will now wait until Sunday to learn their NCAA Tournament fate.

The Tigers will face Ole Miss Friday night in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. LSU will have to win the SEC Tournament if they want a chance to make a repeat run to the Final Four.
