The Minority Advisors Program will sponsor an interview and resume writing workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Cultural Center.
The workshop will be a chance for students to learn how to properly construct a resume as well as what to anticipate during the interview process. It will be an opportunity for students to see what employers are looking for, not only during the interview, but also after they get the job.
"It will help to clarify what is expected of them," said Keisha Moses, a graduate assistant for MAP.
The speaker for this workshop has not yet been decided. However, someone from Career Services will facilitate the instruction.
The workshop is open to any student who is interested and not just for those soon seeking employment.
"It is never too early to get a head start and learn what you need to know to succeed in the business world," Moses said.
When the Black Cultural Center last held this event, nearly 80 students attended to take notes. This time, attendance is expected to be even greater.
"Students really learn something valuable in this workshop," Moses said. "It is important to know these things and ... build these skills."
