Tennessee starting defensive back Demetrice Morley has been kicked off the university's football team head coach Phillip Fulmer announced this afternoon.
"We have university standards that have to be met or there will be consequences," head coach Phillip Fulmer said. "Our athletes have a tremendous support system at the University of Tennessee. The bottom line is he was not accountable for his own actions when he had every chance to succeed."
Morley's dismissal comes twelve days after the Vols lost to Penn State in the Outback Bowl 20-10 to complete their 2006 campaign. The Vols finished 2006 with a 9-4 record after just winning five games in 2005.
