Football fan or not, Super Bowl Sunday is an excellent excuse to throw a party or just a small get-together of good friends.
Since the main focus of the event should be the game, the only thing to really worry about is what you’ll be serving your guests.
Super Bowl parties are not soirees, so you don’t need to worry about making gourmet cuisine. Simple, good old-fashioned American food is really all you need to satisfy everyone on your guest list.
Classics such as chili, chips, dip, salsa, popcorn, and Buffalo wings are perfect. Also, be sure to have a large stock of everyone’s favorite cold beverages. This is really is the one night of the year where it is okay to sit back, relax, and bask in countless calories so take full advantage!
Impress your friends by cooking. Look up Rachael Ray’s recipe for Double Cheese Chili and Lampe’s chicken wings on Yahoo!
If you cannot cook or just simply do not have the time, check out what’s out there in catering. McAlister’s Deli and Chik-fil-A are two great places that will set up delicious platters for your guests. If you are easily stressed or domestically challenged, having someone else cook food for your party may be the best plan.
If you’re absolutely dying to decorate for your bash, try using balloons and streamers of the opposing teams’ colors (orange and blue for the Chicago Bears and blue and white for the Indianapolis Colts). You could also try the same thing with the dishes used to hold the snacks. Paper plates, cups, and silverware can be found at your local party store as well.
