Santa will be giving college students at UT the best gift of all this Christmas season: cash. After hours of studying and preparing for finals, students will be rewarded not just with good grades but also with cash for those textbooks they rarely opened.
The UT Book and Supply Stores will be buying back books starting on Dec. 6 continuing through exam week. Books can be sold at three locations on campus: the UC Ballroom and the UC Book and Supply store locations in Hess Hall and Presidential Court.
Throughout exam week, the stores will be open to buy back books at different times. Dec 6 and 7 the buy-back hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Dec. 8 they will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Dec. 10 through 13 they will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
However, the UC Book and Supply stores are not the only options for students wishing to sell their books back in time to have extra cash for Christmas.
Rocky Top Books located on Cumberland Avenue also buys books. They are located at 2116 Cumberland Avenue and are open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Their Web site offers a place for students to figure out how much their books are worth at Rocky Top Books by entering the ISBN of the book.
Another option for students wishing to make money off of their books is selling them online through Web sites such as ebay, and Amazon.com.
