Today at 2:30 p.m. in Room 314 of the Communications Building, professors and students from Jordan (a middle eastern country nestled in between Israel and Saudi Arabia) will be presenting a seminar focusing on journalism education in their country.

The group has been visiting the campus to get a feel for American journalism. "They are interested, both faculty and students, to see how our campus newspaper operates," UT Professor Dwight Teeter said. Teeter worked with one of the visiting faculty during his time at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The group is sponsored by the United States Department of State, according to UT Professor Kelly Leiter. Both men agree that learning about journalism from other countries is important to current students. "It makes you appreciate as bad as ours can be," said Leiter jokingly.
