"He will explore the vital role that images have played over the last 150 years of the American Christian quest to envision Jesus," UT assistant professor of art history Alexis Boylan.
Morgan has written many books involving religious imagery. His newest book, The Lure of Images: A History of Visual Media and Religion in America, will be available this summer .
