Get ready – get set – walk! Or run if you like. It’s time for the UT's annual Relay for Life. This year's Relay will be held at Circle Park starting at 7 p.m. Friday, April 13, and continuing until 7 a.m. Saturday.
Those who wish to participate can sign up until Friday. Participants join teams of eight to 12 people, according to Erin Ebert, UT student and Relay for Life representative.
The evening will begin with the opening ceremony in which cancer survivors take the first lap officially beginning the Relay.
"Opening ceremony is a lot of fun," Ebert said. "There is music and everybody is getting pumped for the night."

Teams set up fundraising booths offering food, face painting and even manicures.
This year, Locks of Love will be on site for those who wish to donate their hair, and various competitions will give teams the chance to earn points and awards at the end of the Relay.
The Luminaria Ceremony starts at 10 p.m. Luminaria are paper bags that are dedicated to someone who has fought cancer or is currently fighting the disease.
During the ceremony, the names on the bags are read, candles are lit inside them and the luminaria are placed around the track. Luminaria can be purchased for $5 until 8 p.m. The proceeds from the luminaria go to the American Cancer Society, according to UT's Relay for Life website.
At the closing ceremony, the total amount of money raised during the event will be announced, and prizes will be awarded to the team and individuals who raised the most.
